Here at BuntsXtrail we love Off Road Cycling. You can see us every weekend in all weathers exploring bike trails and bridal paths around Buntingford. We like to think we know all the routes around after riding them for over 30 years but there are still ones we have yet to test. We use Ordnance Survey Maps and handy websites to record our favourites. And it’s not just the Buntingford area we’ve ridden – for 2 decades we’ve taken our bikes on holiday. Portugal , France and the Isle of Wight are our most favourite destinations so far.
Come and Join us on our annual Bike Ride for The British Heart Foundation
BuntsXtrail are all about encouraging people to get on a mountain bike and explore trails for fun, fitness and get the feel good factor, so when The Fox and Duck Pub in Buntingford asked us to design and help organise a Charity Ride for The British Heart Foundation we were very happy to oblige. We called it Pump It Up! and now in its second year we hope you will ride with us this September. They put on a great day, what with cake stalls and a tasty barbecue and its for an excellent Charity!
We had a great day last time in 2018 – It rained all through the night and made for very muddy tracks. Most riders loved that but it was very cold and damp. Over 70 riders rode that day – Not bad for our first event.
This year we are bringing the event a month forward hoping for a brighter day – On the 22nd September 2019 we shall be starting again from the Fox and Duck Buntingford at 11am.
All riders must register prior to the Ride at the Pub from 10am. You will be given a ‘Pump It Up!’ Bike Tag to display on the ride after confirming your entry fee of just £10 per person. Many of you preferred to pay directly to our Celebration Donation page run by The British Heart Foundation. Here’s the link to that page https://celebration.bhf.org.uk/Celebration/Pump-It-Up-2019
Just copy the above link and paste it into your browser or you can try pointing your smart phone at this QR Code to take you directly to our Donation page.
The mainly Off Road 12 Miles event has Marshals along the way (see Map below). There is also, for those of you wishing a longer route, a 5 mile extension making 17 Miles altogether which if you choose, you will be given our marked Ordnance style Map for that extra part.
For those of you wishing an extension on the 12 mile ride here is our 17 mile suggestion.
Please note that it is NOT the official Pump It Up! Charity route but one to get your teeth into on the day as an alternative.
